Yesteryear Collection

The Conoco petrol tanker was released in April 1991. Matchbox Toys Ltd. had talked with the Budweiser Corporation and at one time it appeared that this famous American brewer would be second livery on the (Y23-2) 1930 AC Mack Tanker. However, negotiations did not progress and with the 1991 selection meetings imminent, an alternative livery, that of 'Conoco', was sought and obtained.
The end flaps of the box featured the number '23-B' - the letter B indicated that this was the first re-colour of change of livery to the Y23.

Livery: (Tampo)
'CONOCO' and two Conoco logo triangles in red, on both sides of tank panels.
'CONTINENTAL OIL COMPANY' between two horizontal lines in white on both body panels.
Conoco logo triangle and white coachlining on both cab doors.
'CONOCO' and Conoco logo triangle in white on front of bonnet.
Conoco logo triangle in red on rear tank door panel.

Variations/Rarities: An initial run was completed with 'leftover' Texaco baseplates (MADE IN MACAU), which are rare.
